Institute Archives

Institute Archives is the largest of the kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina and consists of two units: musicological and ethnomusicological. Musicological archives is composed of manuscripts and music works by Bosnian and Herzegovinian composers Miroslav Špiler, Mladen Pozajić, Milan Jeličanin and Mladen Stahuljak, who donated their legacy to Academy of Music in Sarajevo. Besides these materials, Institute also owns digital copies of manuscripts and transcripts collected during research in the period since 2004.

Ethnomusicological archives consist of manuscripts, photographs, drawings and audio recordings (with accompanying catalogues) collected during field research (1953-1991). Institute of Musicology holds four collections with about 850 tapes that are treated as scientific audio recordings, i.e. acoustic sources made during several research projects with a specific focus and controlled circumstances. The most significant and largest collection includes recordings from academician Cvjetko Rihtman’s legacy (1953-1974), as well as the collections by Miroslava Fulanović-Šošić (1960-1990), Jasna Spajić-Hadžisalihović (1970-1980) and VInko Krajtmajer (1970-1991).

Due to cooperation with other institutions and researchers, Institute owns digital copies of manuscripts made by Fridrich Krauss, Gerhard Gesemann, as well as historic audio recordings of Bosnian and Herzegovinian music made by 1937. Since 2000, Department of Musicology and Ethnomusicology has also been organizing new field research, and recordings and accompanying documentation are stored in Institute of Musicology. Materials of Institute of Musicology are primarily available to Music Academy staff and students, and partly to public as well. CONCERTS

Through various forms of concerts (ensemble concerts, all-evening recitals, concerts of mixed character), all Academy departments are presented as well as their rich artistic and concert activity. Concert season
