Ensemble Etnoakademik

Ensemble “Etnoakademik” is a vocal ensemble which works at Academy of Music in Sarajevo. The ensemble was founded by dr. Ankica Petrović in the late 1980s, and its members were students of Department of musicology and ethnomusicology. After a few-year-long interruption, Ensemble re-started its activity in 2003.

The program focus Ensemble’s activity is nourishing and presenting the vocal, instrumental and vocal-instrumental music tradition of secular and spiritual content, of rural and urban practice of all the three constituent nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina nd minority ethnic groups.

Over the past period. Ensemble “Etnoakademik” presented its activity at a few significant events, as well as in many TV programs, all-evening concerts, etc. Ensemble’s activity was recorded at two CDs published by Musicological Society. Besides musicology and ethnomusicology students, Ensemble members include students of other departments of Music Academy. Ensemble is led by Tamara Karača Beljak and Branka Vidović.
